Breathing Techniques


Don't ignore the mind while attempting to heal the body. Did you know that breathing techniques can quell anxiety prior to procedures and that patients who meditated while receiving light treatment for their psoriasis had statistically significant improvement of their condition compared to those who received light treatment alone?

An easy one to try is to breath in through the nose to the count of 7. Hold 4 seconds and exhale out of the nose for 7 seconds.

Repeat at least 5 times.

Another grounding exercise starts after taking several deep belly breaths followed by looking and identifying 5 items surrounding you, then closing your eyes and identifying 4 things you can feel, then listening for 2 sounds, and finally a taste.

I dare you also to then contemplate if there is a 6th sense (the latter is my personal variation!).
